Neighbors Moving & Storage provides moving and storage services that are trouble-free, easy, and down-right neighborly. So we thought we’d point out some of the great things about one of our favorite places: Boston, Massachusetts.

Boston is one of the oldest cities in the country and as such, has great culture, arts, shopping and best of all, well-established, enjoyable neighborhoods.

In fact, Boston is known as a “city of neighborhoods.” Some of the best known ones:

  • Beacon Hill – This is one of Boston’s oldest and most established neighborhoods. In fact, this historic district got its name from a beacon set on a hill to warn colonists of an invasion. These days, its full of brick row houses, decorative ironwork, narrow streets and gas lamps.
  • Fenway / Kenmore – The home of Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox, this neighborhood is also the city’s cultural center where the Museum of Fine Arts and Symphony Hall are located.
  • Jamaica Plain – Boston’s cultural diversity is heavily focused here with many young families from all over the country and the world choosing Jamaica Plain as their home. The rich blend of diversity makes it attractive to newcomers and a variety of walking and bicycle paths along Jamaica Pond give it staying power.
  • The North End – Paul Revere called this Boston neighborhood “home,” but these days, what was traditionally the first stop for immigrants has capitalized on its beginnings. If you’d like an authentic Italian meal, you can’t do better. The North End features a tight-knit sense of community and its waterfront access and views are also a plus.
  • West Roxbury – Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau once lived in this section of Boston with its peaceful, utopian appeal. These days West Roxbury it has a unique sense of civic activism and focused youth programs.

Boston’s academia and intellectual circles are storied, its historic sites are legendary and its residents have to be experienced to be believed. Of course, if you’re interested in moving to or from Boston, we hope you’ll request a quote for some friendly Neighbors Moving & Storage assistance.
